Poor app quality. Gets the job done.

I used it to load balance when the ventra website didnt work for me. It processed my payment without issues. The screen flickered after every action I did like navigate from one to another. It could be better if it looks like native app. It felt like a poor UX/app design to me. Website has a nice user experience.

I like the app but it would be ideal if you could load up your card using Apple Pay. Please add this feature!

Time predictions

The time predictions for buses are wrong so often that its barely usable. What is the deal with that? Why have the function if its incorrect more often than not?

Good start. Heres a feature suggestion

I use it on Metra everyday w a monthly ticket and it word well. Heres one feature suggestion everyone would find useful. If you launch the app and have an active Metra ticket, the ticket itself should be the first screen displayed. It takes too long with too many clicks to get to the ticket right now. The conductors have to wait and wait while people pull it up.

Good, but assumes vast local knowledge

How do I know which line I need? What do UP and DN mean? Great if you were born on a train; useless if you werent. Designers: start with the user in mind. Provide a map. "You are here. Where do you want to go?" Then provide transit options, times, and arrival info. Then sell a ticket. Please.

Gets hung up

Ive had to reinstall several times after Ive opened the app and all that appears is blue screen. Otherwise the only real advantage is not having to buy 10 rides in person. App also lags a lot between steps while it loads next step.

Love Ventra App

The app is great & I love the addition to purchase Metra tickets! However, I wish there was a way to switch funds over to the Metra from the Ventra CTA funds to purchase tickets.

Free Metra rides for a while!

When it initially seemed to work it never finalized a Metra ticket purchase. Then it broke. All I ever get now is the blue logo screen. Deleted and re-added; no joy. Called support; no help to be found. Now when I hop on the Metra, I just have my broken app and show the conductor that it won’t work! He shrugs and lets me ride! If Metra wants to stop giving away rides, fix the app!

Cant even create a new account iphone 6s plus

Cant create a new account to use the app as the "done" button appears 3 separate times on the page and wont allow you to click the final create account button.

Does the job

Its nice that you can buy tickets without having to stand in a mile long line, however, this app is begging for some quick actions from the app icon. Please add some shortcuts for payments and displaying metra tickets. 4 taps just to show a valid ticket to a conductor is a joke.

Moving tix when phone stolen is impossible

You cant move your metra ticket without the old phone. So if you lose or have your phone stolen - like mine was - you have to contact support. No phone #. So I emailed 2 days ago. No reply. I have to tell every conductor about this. Very annoying

Add to Apple Wallet

This app needs to be made available in Apple Wallet for iPhone, and should stay open to an active ticket so that it is readily accessible to the conductor when he arrives. Too many click-thrus when its time to pay the fair is unhelpful. Adding these features would get this app a revised rating of 5Stars. Thanks.

Somewhat cumbersome when getting the app up and running

After what was a rough start trying to use the app during the commute the app is solid and functions well.

Password policy doesnt match website!!

My password works on the website, and doesnt work on the app. Cant use app, because I cant log in. Fix the login process!

The fact that I dont have to run through the station to wait in line and buy tickets anymore is amazing! Im very happy. The app could do more, of course, but its a version 1 app. I love it! Thanks Metra!

Critical Bugs

If I enter text, the "Done" bar persists unless I kill the app, making it impossible to add a credit card number for autoload. Additionally, its an unintuitive way to add a credit/debit card. The purpose of this app is to make purchases and without an intuitive way to add a credit card, free of critical bugs, this app is useless. Did the development team have any form of QA or testing before rolling this out? How did App Store let this one through the cracks? Take it off of the App Store until a less buggy version of this app is released.

20% of the app works. 80% of it is infuriating. Please hire a decent QA team.

Ive encountered several error scenarios on this app so Im not going to list them all. Just the most frustrating ones. Buying Metra Tickets. Fails terribly. In my 30+ attempts, it worked twice. On the attempts where the transaction failed, the app displays a meaningless generic error message on a modal that is not actionable. Contact Us - Fails terribly. After you take the time to fill out the form, you tap submit and nothing happens. Eventually, the meaningless error message is displayed that says something along the lines of - we have encountered an error, please try again...
