Wont work at all

I really have to hand it to the CTA for designing an app thats so secure it wont even open. The first time I booted it up, I was able to create an account fairly normally, but when it came to paying for the ticket I had in my cart, none of the options did anything despite not being greyed out. I figured it was because I had to log in again, but the login screen wouldnt accept any username/password combination I put in. I tried one of the exact same combinations on the actual Ventra site and it worked, but now the app wont open; its stuck on a blue screen with the logo, and that wont change no matter how much I terminate the app via the double-home button menu.

Is this some sort of scam to make me pay a dollar extra every time I ride?
